Choctaw language singing and preaching was held on Saturday morning, April 26, 2008 at the OCTA building. That evening, the 48th annual Gospel Singing was held at Angie Smith Memorial United Methodist Church. Lunch was served at the OCTA building and everyone met at the Church for supper before the gospel singing.

»The summer is over and fall classes have begun.«

Adult Choctaw language classes started on September 18, 2007. The class meets from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday nights at the OCTA Building, 5320 S. Youngs Blvd. You are welcome to start the class at any time, so come on down and join us for language and cultural fellowship.

Children's classes (ages 5 to 12) are now meeting from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. on Saturdays at the OCTA Building.

The summer children's immersion class was a great success and was enjoyed by all, both the students and the adults who helped put it on.

These classes are provided free of charge by the Choctaw Nation's Language Department (Chahta Anumpa Aiikhvna). All classes are open to persons of every tribe and nationality.

You can contact Norris and Brenda at (405) 672-5653. Brenda's email address is Brenda.J.Samuels-1@ou.edu.
