St. Patrick's Day Parade 2008
The OCTA membership and the Choctaw Language Classes
participated once again in the Oklahoma City St. Patrick's Day parade on
Saturday, March 15, 2008. Fittingly, that very morning The
Oklahoman published an article on its editorial page
remembering the famine relief donation by the Choctaws to the
Irish during the Great Potato Famine. The following link will

The OCTA Wild Onion Dinner was held at the OCTA building on
February 23, 2008.

Annual Labor Day Festival 2007
We took the OCTA Indian Taco trailer
to the annual Labor Day Festival in Tvshkahomma on August 30 to
September 3, 2007.
Edmond 4th of July Parade
The OCTA membership participated in
the 2007 Edmond 4th of July parade. Ken Jacobs provided his
trailer, as he did for the St. Patrick's Day parade. We had a
good turnout of Choctaws and even gave a ride to one refugee
from the Chickasaw float.

2007 Trail of Tears Walk
The Choctaw Nation Trail of Tears Walk was held at the National
Capital Grounds at Tvshkahomma, OK on May 19, 2007. The new
Choctaw Nation Veteran's Cemetery was also dedicated that day.
The Choctaw Nation provided a bus to take OCTA members to the
ceremonies.

Tribal Alliance Wild Onion Dinner
The OCTA Wild Onion Dinner was held at the OCTA building on
February 24, 2007. These photos show the great amount of work
needed to prepare for this traditional dinner.

Veterans Day Ceremonies
The Choctaw Nation Veterans Day ceremonies were held on November
11, 2006 on the Capital Grounds at Tvshkahomma, OK. The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma
provided a bus to take OCTA members to the ceremonies.
Choctaw Storytelling Festival
The Choctaw Storytelling Festival was held June 23, 2006 at the
Choctaw Community Center in McAlester, OK. These pictures were
taken at the Choctaw singing held after the traditional dinner
on Friday night. The next festival is scheduled for June 29 and
30, 2007.

The Choctaw Nation Trail of Tears Walk was held at Wheelock
Academy, Middleton, OK on May 20, 2006.
